Chapter 11
“Ian, what is that?”
His heart pounded. Stammering, changing the subject, he looked at the window, and outside it a cluster of faint lights was gathered, flying about. It was a question he had blurted out to calm the heavy feeling inside his chest, but that fluster was quickly pushed away by the fascinating scenery beyond the window. Yuri’s lips parted slightly.
The demon, following Yuri’s gaze and glancing as he turned his head, came closer quietly smiling and leaned his arms on the windowsill together with him.
“Those, fireflies.”
“Wow, I am seeing fireflies for the first time.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, I thought they were only in the human world…”
“They were originally in the Underworld and went up. Now there is a lot of light in the human world too, so they have almost disappeared.”
“I see…”
They are pretty, like stars moving. Yuri’s excited voice scattered, and in the demon’s eyes as he looked at such a Yuri, a deep smile settled.
“Shall we go out?”
“There?”
“Yeah.”
“…Is it all right to go?”
“You can do anything you want to do.”
“Let us go see the stars together, Yuri.”
At that one answer, the fireflies flying in full felt truly like stars in the night sky. A moment ago he had just called them fireflies… and now that he calls them stars, his heart is noisy again.
The demon was waiting for Yuri’s answer, weaving a soft gaze. Yuri, hesitating for a moment, soon smiled brightly and nodded his head.

Grass grown up to their knees rustled clearly with every step of the angel and himself. If you walked just a little through the forest where leaves fluttered, a landscape thick with soft grass was revealed in full.
Ian had walked here holding the angel’s hand, to this place he liked. A faint, dreamlike place in the dark Underworld, full of fragrant wildflowers in bloom and countless fireflies flying through the air in slow movement.
“Wow…”
The angel’s two eyes, widening big whenever he saw something fascinating or pleasing, sparkled more than the stars. That gaze seemed to color this place even more dreamlike. Ian spread his own clothes on the grassy field between the bushes. And he gently pulled the hand of the angel who stood blankly looking around. The angel’s voice, sitting down with an excited gesture, floated up lightly.
“It is even prettier up close. Is it always like this here?”
“Yeah, since the sun neither rises nor sets in the first place, the things that shine are always pretty.” Just like my angel, who shines more than anything right now. Watching the angel fiddling with a small flower, wondering what else was so fascinating, a sweet feeling also rose.
Suddenly, when a cool breeze blew softly, the angel’s black hair scattered gently. Ian, having half closed his eyes and then opened them again, saw a light feeling of something being laid on him, tap, and the angel’s happily smiling face, and put his hand to his own ear.
“It is pretty, Ian.”
Ah, so that is what it was. At the tips of his leisurely raised fingers, a fluttering flower touched him. The angel, having put the flower he had been looking at for a long time into Ian’s ear, was smiling with a satisfied expression. Looking at the big eyes curved pleasantly, as if seeing something truly pretty, Ian somehow felt an itch deep inside his throat.
Yuri. How do I look to you, and how pretty am I? When you smile, it feels as if my mind is melting, and when you blink quietly now and then, the core inside my body tingles. And I like even that impatience so much that I hold back my greed, you are that pretty to me, but how pretty am I to you?
Leaning his face against the angel’s hand that gently stroked his cheek, Ian swallowed a deep feeling. Unlike his own cool hand, the angel’s hand was warm. The soft, warm temperature must be the same for those lips too. Just as soft as the hand touching his cheek.
Ian, smiling quietly, soon approached the angel’s face with a slow movement. If you just hold out your cheek, the lips that naturally come closer make a smacking, ticklish sound. And they were waiting, pouting their lips, to kiss the other cheek too.
This feeling is always good, but now it is a little lacking.
No, it is not lacking, I am thirsty.
Seeing the lips and eyes urging him to quickly hold out the other cheek too, it seems he is thirsty today, of all days. Ian moistened his mouth, which was growing dry, and slowly turned his head.
Grant me this much greed, Yuri.

When the approaching breath drew close to his cheek, the angel’s soft lips for a moment touched the corner of Ian’s mouth as he turned his head. The pressed lips fell away quickly, but on the angel’s face, blinking his wide-open eyes and gaping his mouth blankly, the surprise of the ticklish first kiss remained in full.
The angel, fumblingly touching his own lips, closed his mouth tightly and looked at Ian. Ah, should he make some excuse now. At the moment Ian, smiling awkwardly, was about to open his mouth, not a single one of the words he had thought of came out of his mouth. Only his stiff mind melted white.
Inside his gaze, which he could not even bring himself to avoid, was the angel’s face with its eyes tightly closed, filling it completely. On his lower lip, he felt the angel’s warmth and breath. The angel was leaning his whole body against Ian and kissing him, so much that his body, which had stiffened and stopped, tilted backward.
Ah, I really meant to hold back at just that much. I thought a light kiss would be enough.
The regretful lips slowly fell away, and the gaze that met his again was distant. It was not the clear, shy gaze he had seen until now, but a gaze that seemed excessive and moist, as if yearning for something.
Even his parting lips felt as if they were demanding something.
Far behind the angel, countless blue fireflies rippled all the way to the distance. Between their meeting gazes, a night wind thick with greenery blew. Everything that met his eyes was dreamlike, but could it be as dreamlike as my angel, lowering his yearning eyes.
Ian stroked the angel’s hair and cupped his soft cheek. Pushing his tongue into the angel’s slightly parted mouth, he slowly tangled the soft, hot flesh.
“Ha, ah…”
Why is the heavy breath leaking between lips that fall apart for a moment so good. Why does the arm clinging to his shoulder ache so, and why are the lips clumsily keeping time more lovely and distant than any memory of a kiss until now.
“Yuri.”
“…Yeah.”
He stroked the angel’s wet lips as they slowly fell away.
“Just a little more.”
A low, deep whisper brushed the angel’s lips. I am still thirsty for you, so just a little more. Ian pulled the angel’s waist in deeper. The angel, shrinking his shoulders and smiling shyly, closed his eyes again and lightly took Ian’s lower lip in his mouth. A sore feeling spread through Ian’s whole body.
Ian smiled with his eyes closed. And then, with a deeper movement than the first, and a little less leisurely, he kissed him again. He did not forget to firmly support the angel’s back as it tilted further and further back. The fine trembling felt in his hands rose quickly to his heart.
Yuri, I am glad I met you. Are you glad you met me too?
He felt as if he knew the answer to the question he thought up in his mind without hearing it. The arms clinging yearningly and the trembling body, and the movement digging in deeper and deeper, alone made the angel’s answer clear.
Ian swallowed every one of the angel’s quickening breaths without missing any, smiling with their lips still touching.
